Naturally we handmake this multi-styling hairpiece in your hair color. You can slightly vary the size of the layered hair bun by pinning up the 3 strands of hair more in a more compact or more lose way. The fluffier layered buns are perfect for decorating with hair jewelry if you want to fuse the hair jewelry with the chignon and not have it stand out of it. 

We deliver the unbraided hair extension, still you can braid it and wear it as braided ponytail plait and pin up the braided braid into a braided topknot bun.
The unpinned plait hair piece is about 45 cm/ 18 inches long and ca. 6 cm/ 2.4 inches wide, you can vary the width slightly by braiding it more tighly or losely. 

This M size braid & bun hair piece is perfect for fine, thin and regular hair. For regular hair the next size L is also a great option and naturally especially for thick hair.

Layered Chignon
Attach the hair extension unbraided as it comes, part the hair into 3 strands and pin up the 3 strands of hair one after another in layers - for a very natural, messy and layered hair bun. This kind of unbraided bun is a very popular wedding hairstyle for the bride and even her bridesmaids - a larger hair piece for the bride and this more subtle bun for the bridesmaids.

Lightweight Hair Piece with Fancy Volume

Which Hair Does This Chignon & Braid Hair Piece Match

The bun and braid in volume size M are perfect for fine, thin and regular hair. For regular hair the next size L is also a great option and naturally especially for thick hair.

This messy topknot & braid hair extension is a great match for all hair textures: straight, wavy and curly hair. The hair in the hairpiece is not straight, otherwise the braid and also the hair buns pinned up from it would be much thinner. Moreover messy stylings are not easy to make with straight hair. We simply work with a basic hairdresser's trick and add some texture to the hair - in this case it's curls. You cannot really see them in the braided styling, hence the chignon and the braid ponytail match all hair textures, even straight and wavy hair. 

When making a layered bun the difference in texture becomes slightly more visible. But this is typical for this kind of hairstyle. If you have a hair stylist make a layered bun of your own long or wavy hair, he or she will first add curls with a curling iron to add more volume to your hair. So we use the same trick just with a ready to wear and practical hair piece! 

Curls, Waves, Straight Hair - Let's Play With Texture!

Keep in mind that you pull your own hair back into a ponytail to attach the hair extension. this means one can hardly tell how thick or thin your own hair is, if you have lots of hair or few hair and even your hair texture is hard to recognize. This means you can indeed play with hair pieces and add curls to straight hair for a day - keep in mind you spare your hair the stressful perm!

Attachment

Choose between two attachment options in the menu above: Professional or basic attachment.

We recommend the professional attachment with our messy braid hair extensions in case you want to wear this braid as ponytail hair piece, too and not pinned up into a bun only, see explanation "You shouldn't use this messy braid for" further above. The braid shown without model has the professional attachment.

Professional Fishtail Attachment = strong hair tie and two additional strands of hair which complement your own hair so you have more to wrap around the attachment.

This means it's much easier to
1st secure the hair extension and 
2nd to cover the junction of your own hair and the synthetic hair!
The direct fusion of your own hair and the additional hair of the fishtail attachment offers maximum hold and is the most natural looking way to attach a hair piece!
This fishtail attachment upgrade provides extra strong hold (i.e. needed for acting and dancing) and most customers find it more comfortable to wear and easier to handle than the basic attachment. I named it fishtail attachment, because the two extra strands reminded me of the shape of a fishtail when I created this attachment method.
The fishtail attachment is highly recommended when you have thin/ fine hair or hair shorter than shoulder long. As it is never too much, you can even add it, if your hair is shoulder long or longer, of course. It is also nice to have, if you like the small buns which occur when the fishtail attachment is used.

Basic Attachment = strong hair tie

You can choose the basic attachment, if your hair is longer than shoulder long and if you don't have fine/ thin hair. Still the fishtail attachment is most practical for braids and never too much, you can add it for any hair length! 
There are several ways to use the basic hair tie attachment:
1. The braid is opened, attached to your own ponytail and braided together with your own hair, see pictures with blonde haired doll below. As you have to braid the braid tightly to prevent your own hair from slipping out, the Fantasy Braid will loose its great volume and will look different. That is why we do not recommend this attachment method for this kind of braid.
2. Attach the braid braided to your own ponytail. Your own hair is used to counter-secure the hair fall by being wrapped around the attachment and being secured with hair pins (see first row with black braid). You can also braid your hair before wrapping it around (see second row with blonde lady). This makes an even nicer finish and it is easier to secure and less stressful for your own hair.

Hair Color

Your hair color can be matched perfectly including highlights, lowlights and all shades, because all braided headbands are made to order exclusively! One's own hair usually contains 2-3 colors (only dark hair often consists of 1 color only), hence we include up to 3 colors in the price.

How to give us perfect color instruction in 3 steps only, with the help of the menus above

The price includes a custom mix of up to 3 basic colors, a fourth or fifth color can be added at extra costs. Some special colors also cost extra, you will see this in the menu.

1st menu HAIR COLOR, choose your colors or enter "advice needed".

Press Ctrl and click all the colors you wish to choose for your hair piece. If you need more than 3 colors, choose the upgrades 4th or 4th and 5th color from the drop down menu, so the extra fees are added. If you forget this, we will send you a manual invoice for the extra fees and delivery will be delayed, because we can only start making your hair piece after this second invoice has been paid. 
Option: If you want to make your purchase, but still need our support in choosing the best color match, choose "Advice needed!" instead. In this case delivery time cannot be met, because we can only start making your order when all information is complete. If extra costs because of a 4th or 5th color or special colors occur, we will send you a manual invoice and delivery time will only start after payment for this second invoice has been effected.

2nd box for optional color proportions "Insert proportions for colors if desired here"

If you wish more of one color and less of another use the little message box to insert desired proportions (e.g. 2/3 of color 8 and 1/3 of color 30). When you leave this box free, we will use equal proportions of all colors.

3rd menu "details for color mix"

Tick one of the checkboxes. If you wish several colors in a fine blend and one to be added as highlights, use the message box for proportions to tell us which one the hightlight color is.
